Ordered 6 Books!

I just spent my entire $50 amazon gift card on books.  I got a few bargains!  I was comparing prices and some of the books were as much as 44% off.  They’re expected to arrive between July 5-8.  I went to Borders yesterday with my boyfriend and saw Delirium by Lauren Oliver.  It looked really interesting and a lot of people have been talking about it on tumblr so I decided to order it.  So, I switched out one of the Kelley Armstrong books for it because they were priced the same as Borders.  So, here is what I’m getting in the mail ya’ll:

  1. The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong
  2. Divergent by Veronica Roth
  3. Elixer by Hilary Duff
  4. Sex and the City by Candance Bushnell
  5. The Lying Game by Sara Shephard
  6. Delirum by Lauren Oliver

I paid less than $8 out of pocket for all of them thanks to the gift card my boyfriend got me!  I already know I’ll like the Kelley Armstrong book but since they’re the same price in stores I’ll wait and get the rest there with a coupon.  Saving moneys!  Oh yes!  I also still want to purchase Water for Elephants but it was cheaper at Borders and I won’t need it for a little while.  Yesterday I bought Sisterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares.  So far I’ve read 10 books this summer!  The next book I plan to start is the Ann Brashares book next.

I love to read.  Thanks Brendan!  Love you

Book Shopping List

I’ve decided I am going to spend my $50 amazon gift card, that my boyfriend got me, on books.  Shocker?  Ha!  I haven’t decided but, more than likely, I’ll end up buying the following:

  • Kelley Armstrong’s The Summoning & The Awakening (paperbacks)
  • Veronica Roth’s Divergent that I keep seeing rave reviews about (hardcover)
  • Hilary Duff’s Elixer (paperback)
  • Candance Bushnell’s Sex and the City (since I didn’t complete reading it before I returned the e-book version) (paperback)
  • Sara Shepard’s The Lying Game (hardcover)

Total: 6 books

I love books.

Summer Reading

Here is my summer reading list.  These are books I currently own but haven’t been able to find time to read yet!  Quite a collection huh?  My first goal is to go through all of my Kelley Armstrong books.  I’m currently reading Living with the Dead.

I don’t know if I will plan to tackle the list in order because I seriously have my eye on the latest Charlaine Harris book.  I will probably just hop around the list.  Ah summer…I cannot wait for sunshine, reading, and tanning by my pool.  For my reading list click read more.

Checklist

I need to go through my bookshelves and pull out all of the books I’ve been wanting to read but haven’t had time to do so and make a reading checklist.  This summer I’m going to ready my butt off.  I’ve missed it terribly.  Reading for fun is one of my favorite things.  I shall read indoors and outdoors.  I can’t wait.  Summer officially begins after I hand in my final paper.  Yay!

Finals

Oh snap, my Japanese history final is due next Friday.  One week from today and then I will be done with one class totally.  After next Monday I won’t have any Monday classes which will be lovely.  Only one more 3 hour Japanese history class left.  I’m actually going to miss it.  I wish something else was being offered in the fall on Japan that I haven’t already taken.  I’ve really fallen in love with Japan.  The culture is so fascinating and I want to go some day.  I love my major.

I get to learn about fascinating people, places, and things.  History is beyond interesting to me.  I may not know what I want to do, in the future, entirely but I’m happy with my choice in major.  I’m glad I stayed true to myself.  I knew I wasn’t going to be a nurse, doctor, engineer, or whatever.  I love to learn and I got to do a lot of learning by being a history major.  It’s not over yet - one more semester after this one.  So here’s what’s left to do this semester:

  • Japanese history final paper (due 5/6 on blackboard)
  • Write my paper, on Harry Potter, for my religion class (due 5/10 in class)
  • Study for art history & take the final (5/11 in class final)
  • Study for psychology final & take exam (5/12 in class)
  • Pick up final religion take home paper topic and complete essay (due 5/17 in class)

Then I’m free for the summer.  I have a dentist appointment on 5/17 too, and I need to schedule my second Gardasil shot.  DOUBLE YUCK!  But, it’s all good.  After all of that is taken care of I will get to chill poolside and relax some.

As the semester ends…

things start getting busier.  Things I have to do this weekend:

  • Print last article for Japanese history class
  • Read the above mentioned article by Monday
  • Start working on take home final for Japanese history (due 5/6 online)

Next weekend:

  • Continue working on study guide for art history (final exam is 5/11)
  • Write Harry Potter paper (due 5/10 in class)
  • Pick up final paper topic for Religion (due 5/17 in class)
  • Study for psychology (final exam is 5/12)

I’m really glad that my Japanese history final got moved up.  I thought it was due the 16th of May and that would have been nuts.  I can work on it this weekend along with studying for art history and things should be okay.  Not stressed one bit right now.

3 Things…

List 3 things you did today that made you smile:

  1. Baked a special surprise for my boyfriend.  His birthday was Tuesday but he was busy at work so we postponed presents and treats till the weekend.  I’d say what the surprise was but then it wouldn’t be a surprise.  Pictures tomorrow.
  2. Bought Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
  3. Hung out with my Grandma & cousin Mollie who is in town for her spring break.
